Hailing from Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, “Yasashii Mirai” is a band that centers on the roots of Black music, embraces the theme “Just come as you are and dance,” and continually evolves its sound with a pop sensibility. Their music is infused with a subtle spirit of defiance toward society and a kindness that leaves no one behind. They paint a picture of a “future” where a steadfast light shines through the depths of melancholy. Formed in 2022 during the COVID-19 pandemic as a home-recording unit by high school classmates Ren Matsumoto (Vocals) and Muku (Rap). They began full-scale activities as a band after adding Kai Matsumoto (Bass)—the vocalist’s younger brother—to the lineup, followed by Itaru Koizumi (Drums), whom they met by chance in a park, and Natsuna (Keyboards), whom they connected with via social media.
